Older wingmaster and 3" slugs?

Question had my older (late 70 early 80's pretty sure) is out today and currently have a 14" norinco barrel on it (2 3/4, 3") and came across a box of 3" slugs in the cabinet the receiver itself is only for 2 3/4 but it held 4 in the tube and seemed to cycle just fine.

Not planning on using 3" just curious what the problem would be. I guess extracting after the shell is fired?

You should be able to use the 3" without issue. The port is the same opening size for 2.75 & 3". If you experience ejection problems you can upgrade the ejector but likely unnecessary on that vintage. Just be sure the barrel is good for 3".

Cool thanks us the 14" is stamped 3" but no plans to shoot them 2 3/4 does everything I need. Could see a longer barrel for duck hunting in the future my 28" has a fixed full so no steel for that one

A late 70's early 80's isn't old, that's just barely broken in.

Most of the slugs I use are older anyhow. Figure I'm just fine with them.
