Oldy but Goody Trap Video

Video is from the days when trap shooters were real men shooting 60mph targets at wider angles.

I don't know how they achieved 60 mph when they are bring thrown to the same 50 yard distance as today? Heights and flights weren't any different then, I just think they guessed at what speeds they they thought they were going? I can remember being told as a teenager in the late 70's that the targets we shot in skeet were 60mph as well and that was not the case then either.
As for trap we always shot I the no 3 hole in the old western throwers when I started trap shooting but I believe even back then (1982) that the ATA rules called for a number 2 hole setting for anything other than a shoot off?
