Olin WC 867

Hi; Years ago I bought 4 lbs of Higginson Olin WC 867 repackaged rifle powder. It is still in original cardboard box. Does somebody know, approximate burning rate of that powder, compared to well known one?

Just a little faster then US869. Try data for that powder, starting loads, and then work up from there slowly. - dan

Thank You Dan. I know WC 867 is slow powder. I also have WC 852, which equals approx H 450. US 869 does not ring the bell, either. Is WC 867 around, let say RL 25, or IMR7828?

I would figure around R25, but that's an educated guess, not a scientific fact. - dan

According to the specs I was given when I bought the same powder from Higginson Powders they suggested using Hodgdon H1000 data for safe loads and I have used that data with no problems.

I still have part of a 8lb box,used it in my 7STW and now in my 300 Ultra mag.Its just a little faster then Retumbo.It got the best velocity and was the most accurate in my STW. of any powder I tried

I have a bit of that powder too. I used it in an STW with good success. I got results very similar to AA 8700. Eagleye.
