Olive Drab M14S or not... Opinions?

Do you think this rifle should get a Green paintjob? 18.5" Norinco M14 SOCOM with navy sights and Phantom Flashhider. (Bottom one) For some reason they seem to look better in OD....

It's been done, so it wouldn't be original. That said I think it looks good and suit the rifle well. I honestly prefer black, but thats just me.

Do an OD underlay and use a breakup pattern with earthbrown. Keep it simple with the break up.

The OD looks good...but I still prefer black for all of my tactical rifles if they are to be a solid colour.

Thats a nice MARPAT pattern, BTW SKB have you done a CADPAT AR? What ever happened to (Brit-cam) DPM?

Ultimately I think that Ill pass on the paintbob and stick to basic black for now... Sunday is always a great day for painting. Thanks for the input guys.

I'm currently building a Norinco Shorty to about 18.5 and am gonna have SKULLBOY paint the entire rifle, scope, mags, etc in CDN TW Cadpat as it'll look real faaarken sweet I'm sure! Cheers my fellow CGNer's,

I like the olive drab especially with the grey parkerizing, but it has to be a true olive drab green or else it looks a bit toy like. I've heard that all black rilfes tend to stick out like a sore thumb in the bush. It creates a nice hard sillouette that the eye picks up on immediately.

Is there any truth to that?

I like them in tiger stripe tan actually.

Tiger Stripe looks cool, but isn't effective as usable camoflage. I personally am not a fan of the solid OD green; rather black or camo.
