Olympic Arms K40-GL review?

IIRC at the Barrie 3 gun match there were a couple of them that experienced quite a few stoppages.

Quigley....was one of them yours?

That was mine (3 people shot it)

The two stoppages were user error:

The mage are too tight to load with 10...for now I have to just get by with 9  I forgot that and tried to jam a full one in on the reload...didn't seat

The other stoppage was my buddy who couldn't find the mag release :p

I have not had any issues with the gun itself since the first match ( EESA - the gun only had about 30 rounds through it at that point so no surprise)

One note...the furniture that came with it was pretty bad...namely the adjustable stock...probably a good idea to just replace it (that's what I did)

Other then that...nice gun and a good choice for 3-gun

I had a K9GL. Pretty much flawless operation and shot well out to 100m with the Eotech. I had no problems with mine after the initial 100 rounds.

Use Glock mags (if you use the 32(10) round type). The follower can be easily modified to hold 10.5 rounds. Other brands may not have a follower that's as easily modified.

Thanks for the heads up on the full-mag issue, I guess this wouldn't really happen with the 17/10 rds mags...

Now the real dilema, would I be better off with the K9 and use my existing G17 magazines or get a K40 to use up that bucket of brass sitting in the corner of the garage ;)

K9gl

still searching for a .40 cal oly. have two 9's all i can say is awsome once the proper upgrades are done. had barrels done to 10 1/4" sweet little guys.
upgrades from day one
stock set
heavy 8.5 oz buffer a must, tried 5.7 oz 9mm buffer needed more weight.
extra power extractor spring
david tubb chrome silicome buffer spring
replaced all internal trigger assembly as oly's are 2 soft, especialy bolt catch

result hadles everything from +P 115 to sub 147 jhp perfect. first one 2200 rds 0 malfunctions. second one 500 0 malfunctions.

like them so much that i am selling my last .223 all decked out. any .40 cals out there to trade for it?

All I can say if enjoy them if you spend the time to build them right, basic desighn is awsome.

I forgot about what toocold said. I had to replace my bolt catch almost right away. Very soft. That was the only problem I had.
