Hey guys I’m just curious if any ranges in AB have an Olympic trap set up, I’ve been doing ata for a couple years and want to try it out! I did find this this decade old thread https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/for...528-Olympic-Trap-in-AB?highlight=Beaver+hills and I’m wondering if anything has changed since then or is it basically only the one range in Calgary and the rest are kind of mimicking Olympic throwers.

I would call Aheia before i assumed their olympic trap was working.. its an old expensive cantankerous setup that is prone to failure... not enough people want to be humiliated to replace it.

Which is fair to be honest, we have a five stand and a skeet set up at my range but no one uses it as we are all trap shooters primarily and when we do try it we usually get 5/25. I see you Commented almost the same thing on the thread 10 years ago so I can only imagine the condition of that trap setup now!

Saskatoon gun club has both an olympic trap bunker and olympic skeet field.

Silver Willow near Carstairs AB have a International Wobble trap. Its a simplistic version of International Trap. A number of shooters enjoy it.

AHEIA Management is against anything except American style Trap... Everything else is waste of time from their perspective. There used to be a bunker, which is not usable anymore...

As far as I'm aware, only bunker in Alberta is in Beaverhill Sporting Clays club. Alberta International Trap Association manages it...

Beaverhill does have an operational ISSF bunker. It is active and has even hosted Canadian High Performance Team Trails there just before covid. It’s hours are somewhat separate from Beaverhill so you need to get on the email list.
