The Valmet m78 is a beefed up version in every sense compared to the m76 etc...
That being said these LMG weigh in at just over 10lbs. If I am correct the valmet was like 14lbs

Back in the day, I knew a chap with a 12-3 Yugoslav lmg version of their AK. Milled receiver, finned barrel, etc. I had an AKM, also 12-3.
They shot about the same, as far as accuracy was concerned.

I'm so glad I never touched my case of 7.62x39 tracer! Was saving it for the day an affordable lmg came to market.
