On a hardcore search for a Mosin Nagant m39...

Well, it's surprising that from the half dozen or so threads you've started regarding the rifle, that none of them are WTB ads in the EE...

Yeah, making pointless threads like this aren't going to help you with anything. Start travelling to go to as many gun shows as you can and post a WTB in the EE. Like I've said in your many other threads, they're around...

Just what I noticed here in Calgary and area the surplus firearms seems to be somewhat drying up, don't get me wrong there is still lots. But I have noticed the K31, SVT40, and the M39, M44 were everywhere 5ish years ago and CHEAP, now I see them rarely, still lots of SKS. But as well I notice the SKS quality on the down turn too, 10 odd years ago the SKSs looked brand new like off the factory line, now not bad just not perfect. TOO MANY GUNS not enough time and money, I know the felling I turned down a M44 I should not have.

I seen one at Fredericton Gun Shop last week for $400.00.

Now I'm not saying this isn't true.... but I find it unlikely given the fact that they go for a lot more than that now, and that website shows M44's for about $600. I doubt they would sell a much rarer and more desirable M39 for less.

M39's bring much more these days. There was a thread about two for sale on sponsor sites. One was $1400, and the other was $2100. (Both sold.) Now mind you the latter one was a rare "late date" but still.

I hope everyone is talking about the Finn M39 (not to be confused with Russian M44 or M38.)

Yeah, that's what I said. But, it was dated 1968. The so called "late date" ones bring a premium, and it was really nice.

I thought it was too much, but someone bought it.

Was it collector's source? They're known for having exorbitant pricing. For some people, spending $2100 is the same as the average guy spending $210.

I would say that even the rarest M39 is worth no more than $1100 in this market. They usually sell for $600-$900 on the EE. Due to a recent surge of M39 videos on the Internet the number of buyers has increased, temporarily driving up the price.

Actually it was not them, they also had one for $1500?

I want the lower price to be true, but I think the higher price is what we should expect, and what the future of M39's is.

M39's have many variations, and some are so rare they sell for thousands in the US. (Such as marksman versions, or snipers, some B barrles and late dates also get up to $1500.)

Given the fact that they are much rarer in Canada, and the dollar conversion is bad, I'm not really surprised they are going up fast.

Buy one soon ;)

Wow! I actually made a good choice to buy a rifle that appreciated considerably? Unprecedented!
Does anyone want to hear about the the D & T one that I sold for 400 $, lol.
Craziness, those M39's...nice to carry like a 5" fencepost.

Simo Hayha seemed to like it... a lot.

But then again, nobody really knows what he used. It was probably a mix of M27, M28, M39, Swedish M38.

Yeah they are surely climbing in value.

Don't worry I have a lead on a m39. Just working on the price. After I buy it I will be looking for a m-31

I'm in tuff negotiations right now on a m39. I made an offer waiting to hear back. It's like buying a used car. Trying to make a deal so both party's are happy. Getting close on a price.
