I am thinking of switching my floating handguard from my Remington Tactical.22 (VTR597) for a regular AR15 handguard (it seem that they are compatible) and I would like to know what part I would need (hardware) and about how much shall I expect to pay for the complete handguard & mounting kit ?

also about how much can I expect to get for my floating handguard ? My rifle is brand new !

I would like to put one like this :

I really like the idea of an AR-15 handguard but not sure how easy it would be. I don't think you could much selling the VTR handguard. Every VTR has one and I dont know if it would fit on other guns.

That will not fit on that - They ARE NOT COPATIBLE! I had a VTR that I put an AR quad rail system on and it took me ages to find one that would fit that POS, even the I had to f@$k around to get it to fit.

Why dont you ask the guys in the rifmfire section they'll be able to tell you what will and wont fit.

Good Luck

I did, and I was told the utstock and he handguard are both compatible with the AR.

The forend may be "compatible" with an AR in that it has the same internal thread as an AR free float tube. The big issue is how the handgaurd mount is attached to the receiver and I highly doubt the VTR will accept a standard AR delta ring nor a standard AR front sight which are the two bits needed to mount the plastic handguards you want.

Which brings me to the pertinent question. Why would you want to take off the free float handgaurd and put on a crappy non-floated plastic forend?

Just prefer the look of it ! But if it is a No fit, I guess I will survive with the original handguard which is not really bad looking after all !;)
