I picked up a box of 20 rounds (American Eagle) Last one from Whole sale in Lethbridge, cost was about 11 bucks. If you compair it to the other rifle ammo out there, the cost isn't bad at all, but then for a plinker that's just to much for me, I'm gonna be ordering a case from Canadian ammo, I'm not to worried if it's corrosive or not I always at least run a couple a patches through right after shooting anyways then when I can I do a more complete cleaning.Craig67 said:Its not easy to find and it sure isn't as cheap as the Czech stuff.
Wolf - Look around at gunshows. Not much around.
Norinco - Same as above. Not much around.
Remington and Winchester - Some stores stock it .... Warning !!! Be prepared for sticker price shock.

Czech ammo is definetely corrosive, this has been confirmed by CanAm and a couple other ammo suppliers who know their stuff. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's guaranteed to corrode the rifle, under the right conditions there may be little to no corrosion even after several hundred rounds worth of shooting.### Gun Lover said:Some people don't.
I recently examined a two year old SKS-D that had not been "cleaned" for three months and 400 rnds. There was no corrosion anywhere, he had been using "corrosive" Czech ammo, the owner had never removed the trigger group. Needless to say the rifle was filthy, but I could see no evidence that Czech ammo is corrosive.

Buying is easy, but getting it here is not.
Many ammo suppliers have been waiting years, are not telling us about this.
This is why I have been telling people to get ready to get into reloading, and a brass catcher might help.![]()
I hear Chavez just bought Millions of 7.62x39 rounds to go with the huge batch of Aks he just bought from Russia...he likes to stick it to the UN, so he might be the next source.![]()

Many of the ammo dumps were scooped up by insurgents and Sadr militias, so there is an acute shortage in the Iraqi army.
