This is my first time ever doing this, as a reloader you always strive for the perfect groupings.
Well i finally did it with my Savage, topped off with a S111 8x32x56.
This is 10 shots at 100 yds.
I was excited about the first 5 and said I gotta keep going just to do it. Some say that 47 gr Varget is high, but i don't have any pressure signs so i will continue with this load.

The top target is my first attempt at a 5 shot group. ( 4 shots measured .404 )
The second target I failed with the 9th shot.

And finally i shot 10 rounds into a single hole.

Savage 12

savage accuracy is some crazy stuff for sure, love the number of people against them though, with all their recalls and quality control issues going for their top shelf pics lol...............tell us about the stock

Picked up a cil savage single shot 308 target gun a few months ago for 400$ it shoots great just like your rig I'm a savage convert now ! Wish I could figure out how to put the pics on here to share .

Nice work Powderfinger!! It is very hard to keep it together through 10 rounds like you just did, congrats.

I have come close a few times myself (also a .308) and blown it, such is life lol.

Very fine, and I love my Savage 243. I think we usually measure groups centre to centre of bullet holes though.

He is measuring outside to outside and subtracting the bullet diameter. Same result, different approach.

Nice shooting OP, love my Savage 12 and have recently shot out my first barrel. Have a sweet Shillen pre-fit waiting to be spun-on and can't wait to see how she shoots now.

Good shooting. Your powder charge is the same as mine except I use 155 scenars with 47 grains of Varget. It's always nice to find a node that shoots well.

You can pay a lot more and not get groups much better than that.

Either way, my model 12 with a 3 screw target action will do pretty much the same with Lapua Palma brass, 155.5 bergers, Fed GM215M, and 44gr 8208XBR. Pretty satisfying stuff!
