One Scope, two rifles

I will be purchasing a Precision 308 over the next month or so and have now a kel-tec SU-16 with out a scope

I found this scope on sale: Bushnell elite 6500 tactical 2.5-16 x42 with mil dot

And wanted opinions on using the scope on both rifles using the quick release leapould mounts

I have Bushnell elite 6500 2.5-16x50 and a Vortex viper PST 6-24x50 FFP MIL/MIL and use them both on multiple guns. EGW picitinny rails on all 20 moa slope min and currently using the Leupold QRW rings. No problem with return to zero, always within 1/2moa. Go for it.

The La Rue base that is in the Art of the Precision rifle video looks real nice too. Picitinny rails are a must though. Bushnell rainguard coating is just awesome for a hunting scope.

I think you will be constantly chasing your zero if you switch the scope between a couple of rifles. This will lead to frustration and take away from your fun at the range. I recommend one scope one rifle. Shoot the Keltec from the hip until you find a sight for it.
 
Well from what i've read and heard about it, its a decent scope. So u shouldnt need to
Chase zeros. I think you would be ok switching that scope around provided u had good solid rings
 
Zero a scope on one rifle, switch it to another, and it simply isn't going to be zeroed for the second rifle.
Record the settings for the first, swap the scope on to the second rifle, zero it, record the settings. You should be able to swap the scope around without major problems, applying the appropriate settings, assuming that the scope's adjustments are repeatable.

Has nothing to do with the quality of the scope, rings or base but does have everything to do with how the 3 line up to the bore of the rifle when mounted to the action.

Even using identical guns, and bases chances are the two will not be zeroed and adjustments will have to be made. How much adjustment depends on how the base mounting holes were drilled and tapped and how the bases were manufactured.

I took a scope off mny hunting rifle to try on a gun I had purchased and the zero from one rifle to the other was out by 6 mins or so.

If you were to record these settings it could be done but much of a PITA if you ask me.
