Hi, using one good quality scope with two rifles,is that can be done,

rifle 1- 700 rem 5rmilspec 308................bolt action

rifle 2- m14 (NORINCO) CAL 308.............semi-auto

scope sightron III SS 6-24X50MM

It can be done.
Can it be done easily, conveniently and without having to rezero every time? Maybe, if the base is common, and you are using quality rings, and the adjustments on the sight are predictable enough that you can reset them to the established zero for each rifle. Might be possible to be within a minute or two.

I just bought talley detachable rings and bases for two winchesters I have. Both are 30-06, one a pre 64 and the other a new extreme weather ss.

I sighted one in and plan on switching the scope to the other one to see how close it is. I will report back on this thread on the results. I'm hoping it will be close enough to just switch and take hunting for shots within 150 yds or so.

One rifle + two scopes = a good idea, works well, provides quick back-up in case of scope problems on a hunt. I never go on a hunting trip any further away than the back 40 without a spare presighted scope using QD rings.

One scope + two rifles = a major pain in the a** that only sounds like a good idea until you have swapped the scope back and forth a couple of times.

you are probably right.
You could could also have 2 rifles, 2 scopes, switch them a lot, then when you get to your hunting spot you would load her up and then think, does this one hit 4 inches low at 300 yds or 18 inches low at 300, or is that the other rifle?
