Here i came with the idea of shorting on the amount of guns i owe and get one that does the job for lots of purposes... the job of 2-3 rifles in my safe. My wife really likes the concept i guess. I hide the price of my gear so she dont panic ahahaha. Here it is :

Stag 10 build again.( as theres a few on the forum it aint gonna be really much different.)

Stag 10 upper lower combo
Key mod 17 inch handgard
Magpull prs gen 1 buttstock
Nikon black msr scope mount
Raptor ambidextrous charging handle
Jp silent capture buffer speing set
Triggertech ar diamond trigger
SLA adjustable gas block
Harris bipod
Ergo grip
Maybe a surefire muzzlebrake .. aint sure yet what im gonna put on it
Waiting for jp lmos bcg and bsf 20 inch carbon barrel chambered in 308... scope is going to be a steiner gs3. 3x15x56. Sfp ....

The rifle is gonna serve in prs maybe. And hunting for sure!

Ill try to post a pic once done!.....

Sounds Light & Pricey :) !

I'm not a big fan of 17" handguards, puts needless weight where you don't want it imo.

I have similar parts pile for an ATRS MS build, JP & TT. I haven't 100% decided on a BSF barrel, but it's likely.

Yes its a bit pricey all around but i had some killer deals on most parts so its not to bad afterall .I took 17 inch lightweight one... cause i wanted the gas block covered. But the add of bipod shifted a lot o weight already. Needless to say the prs an jp silent capture kit helps for balance a lot. If later i want to I can switch barrel to different setup. More accurate krieger longer barrel or a sub setup in 45 raptor.... that dbe awesome

Stag 10 upper lower combo Good call
Key mod 17 inch handgard shorter is lighter and MLok is the standard. I like the 12.5-13" but 15" is also good.
Magpull prs gen 1 buttstock Very target rifle specific. Great stock but not light and might not be best choice for an all purpose rifle
Nikon black msr scope mount
Raptor ambidextrous charging handle Good call
Jp silent capture buffer speing set Good call, especially to avoid any buffer clang when hunting. The Stag seems pretty good but some can be noisy even when just moving around
Triggertech ar diamond trigger I don't know. The stock trigger can be made pretty good and might be fine as is. If changing I like Geiselle as they have quick lock times and work great
SLA adjustable gas block Good call
Harris bipod Good call
Ergo grip Good call

Maybe a surefire muzzlebrake .. aint sure yet what im gonna put on it tough choice. I went with brakeout 2.0
Waiting for jp lmos bcg and bsf 20 inch carbon barrel chambered in 308... scope is going to be a steiner gs3. 3x15x56. Sfp .... All good stuff. Not sure JP LMOS BCG is needed. Yes to 20" barrel!! but I prefer a 1:11.25 twist rate rather than 1:10 plus the nitride hybrid barrels I will take over the expensive carbon. Again trade offs.

So a few questions:

1) Why Keymod 17" handguard? MLok has won the design standard. This from a guy who does like Keymod. Especially since I do like a tango down stubby vertical grip on the front.
2) PRS stock. Yes it's good for target shooting. It may help balance your rifle. But they aren't light. Also check the LOP as the new gen3 seems a bit different from the older gen 2 AR10 PRS stock.

I have a number of AR10/AR308 rifles. Some are tactical precision rifles (most actually) a few are mixed use. All of them are geared for accuracy. With an all purpose rifle you do get compromises. Weight, cost, accuracy. All trade offs.

Here's something I'm putting together as an all purpose Stag 10 rifle. Haven't shot it yet. The parts are just put together and still not torqued down.

Part list:

1) Stag 10 upper/lower from Arms East.
2) BCG Stag 10 from Arms east along with Stag 10 charging handle, buffer and buffer spring.
3) Badger ordnance gen 1 tactical latch Raptor is preferred but I had the latch so it was cost effective and they work well for me
4) Colt USA carbine buffer tube 4 position only. Generally prefer 6 but in this case the 4 seems to work perfect. (Stag 10 uses DPMS compatible parts so no need for longer Armalite AR10 carbine buffer)
5) Ergo surfire Grip
6) MI MLok handguard 12" (Actually they are 12.5") If you want to cover the gas block then you need their 15" version. I'm happy with how mine turned out. a 13" would also have worked very well (possibly slighter better) if they offered one.
7) SLR nitride adjustable set screw gas block
8) Lantac nitride rifle length gas tube
9) Criterion 20" hybrid 1:11.25 twist 308 nitride barrel. (Note these use a standard rifle length gas tube, while other barrels made by Criterion may require the Armalite length gas tube)
10) AAC brakeout 2.0 muzzle brake/flash hider. If we were allowed suppressors, it offers a quick detach system for them.

I do have gieselle trigger sitting here. But.. after doing the paracord trick to the stag 10 stock trigger, I may very well leave it as is. The weight is a bit heavy at an estimated 5 pounds but it's clean and smooth. I can shoot a heavy trigger if it's smooth with a crisp let off. So I'm going to hold off swapping out the trigger and see if it's even required.

trigger tech are from canada.. they are amazing!!! zero creeps two stage ... best trigger i had so far. i have geisele comp in a ddm9 ar 15 and its god but the tt is far better. if u want to give one a try i have a good discount on them .i have a dealer account there.

as for the handgard ....had the key mod for cheap about 100$. im not intending to put any adds on the handgard since rail dosent flush with the one of upper receiver. i alreay covered the upper rail with rubbers and did a bungee cord lvaoc looking handgard. it handles well and clears enough long to accomodate the harris bipod that i fited with a tricked out bolt and sling attach point. wont attach nothing on it so keymod or mlock dosent change much in this case. im not to put a vertical grip or flashlight. just a scope.

the prs stock is a ar15 unit. ill have to groove a bit in the cheek rest i think to accomodate charging handle travel.. no big deal. i couldbt find a ar10 unit and got this one for 150$ . the weight is not so bad ... it could be better but an all around rifle sacrifices a bit on every aspects .

the 1 :10 groove isnt bad for subsonic and medium weight bullets... i plan on shooting 155 to 185gr handload

juste received my bfs carbon barrel. pretty cool i have to admit. muzzle brake is gonna be a surefire procomp.... price wise it was a easy pick. i ordered a key mod sling attachment for bipod and finaly went with the jp lmos bcg. cerakotef the upper lower and handgard burned bronze. had a killer deal on a steiner gs3 sfp scope 3x15x56.... got it for 800 taxes in! cant wait to assemble and tune!

considering the machining of a tentionning screw in th lower. using a nylon or brass tip screw. ... is ther realy a advantage to it ? planning on beding the barrel too. any of you guys did any of this on your rigs?

Finaly got over with it. I installed a shmidt and Bender pm 2 ffp p4fl scope in a 5x25 x56mm ... and a Spurh mounting in 34mm to accomodate the setup. did a few test with different bullet of various companies from 155g to 178gr with benchmark powder. 175gr where the best! still she loves those federal gold medalist match 168gr... handles like a dream. could do nice shots at over 300 yards standing up! shoot steady , cycles differently according to ammo.. a few clics to dial the gas block and problem is solved.

while im still doing test i realised that the bsf barrel os super fine ... but it wont like a fake supressor extesion cause of weight on tip of barrel since its a flaoting pencil barrel in a tensionized carbon sleeve. it just dont like it!. besides that the surefire muzzle is perfect style function combo... i wouldve saved for a m4/72 but... whatever. .. i did a load that barely scatch my mags with a-max 168gr and 40,7 gr benchmark. finely tuned the gas port with slight purge and im getting constant 0.5 moa at 100meters. the kick is very smooth i can track my bullet flight path easily keeping eyes on target!!! my kids could shoot it no big deal! im more than very staisfied the way it came out. !
