Ontario 2010/11 hunting regs are out

I just picked up a copy of the catalog today. I havn't had a chance to go through it yet. Does anyone know if there are any changes to the regs at all?

It appears that there are a few things in the pipeline that could affect the way you hunt

from the regs:

In order to prevent the introduction of Chronic Wasting Disease, a restriction on the use of hunting attractants
(e.g. scents, lures, urines) which contain a body part or
fluid of a member of the deer family, including glands or urine, is being considered. Prior to using these products, please check for additional updates at ontario.ca/hunting or call 1-800-667-1940.

A regulation is in development that would require hunters, who hunt from manufactured ground blinds, to add hunter orange material to the outside of these blinds, during
periods that hunter orange clothing is required.

I heard that the ban on scents was in the works. Synthetics aren't all that terrible these days. They've come a long way

I saw one yesterday driving to work and i'm usualy checked out at least once a year. Sometimes in hunting season and sometimes fishing. The budgets may not be huge, but they're enough to get out there during the high traffic times. (may 24/opening week for moose) I was accused of having pot on me last year by one of them and then he asked to search the vehicle. My buddy and i politely refused and they went away because they couldn't prove whether or not we were doing anything illegal. Needless to say i was rather unimpressed by the lack of tact this GW showed my friend and i. Now we don't go fishing on may 24 or hunt moose the first week of the season because we don't want to be accused of being criminals for no good reason.

Oh, and for the record. We had absolutely no drugs or alcohol with us so there was no way in hell he could have "smelt" anything on us. He tried that arguement as an excuse to search the vehicle. I guess there are a$$hats in every occupation though right?

WRT CHanges: The Deadline for the Antlerless Deer draw has moved forward a month I believe.

I got my moose group draw going once the telephone system was up. I have a slow bunch of guys.
