You are going on a bear hunt... your "wifey knows this" , why do you have to accomadate her? I just find this odd.

Hey,

Leave her home, and give her the money in cash to spend on anything what you would spend on her extra accommodation. :)
Both of you could have better times, and perhaps next year she will send you hunting. :)

Check out this place. It's in Temiscaming Quebec, 5 hour drive from Toronto. We are planning a spring bear hunt at this camp. Haven't been there yet, but it was recomended. My hunting group just can't wait till fall to hunt bear in Ontario. Quebec still has the spring bear hunt. Show the wife, see what she thinks.

thanks i been looking for a good outfitter for next season. i sent them an e-mail on info and rates for a posible trip next season, just waiting to hear back from them. works out perfectly my wifes family on her mothers side is all from temiscaming so i can take her up there and drop heer off at a relitives with the kids for a week LOL

I've made three trips to Horseshoe Island Camp, near Matachewan. Went with the wife two of those trips, she loved it. Did lots of fishing, got two bears and blew my chance at a third (the biggest by far, of course:( ). A nice comfortable camp, good folks to deal with. If you are by any chance going to the Sportsman's Show in Toronto this month, Don Houston (the owner/operator) usually has a booth.

I should perhaps mention that Don does all of the baiting, etc. before you get there and has active bait sites prepared and ready, but you will be doing the baiting while you're there for the hunt. Dressing and skinning is up to you as well. Definitely adds to the experience for most folks.

Good luck

John
