Thanks to Big Redd (aka Little Pink) and the gang at Accuracy Plus, I entered the world of bowhunting this year. Tons of deer here, and lots of tags available.
First week was awesome, something I am chalking up to a lot of scouting and a lot of beginners luck. Killed a nice doe on the opening Monday morning, and then a big bodied, 9 point buck on Friday night. What a rush, and I am totally addicted now. Both deer were shot at less than 20 yards. Doe dropped in her tracks. Buck went about 75 yards.
Did a ton of scouting and had 2 trailcams set up, that made it almost too easy. Some really good pics. There are still a whack of does and atleast 4 other bucks that we are seeing on a regular basis.
Excalibur Phoenix, with a Varizone scope, 2216 bolts and Wasp Boss 3 blade broadheads.
The tenderloins were quickly consumed and I'm picking up the steaks, chops, burg and sausage this week.
Good luck.
