Does anyone remember what model of Smith and Wesson pistol they used to carry? My father was a CO in Ontario for 32 years and would love to find a pistol, similar to the one that he used to carry. As a kid I remember great times and that pistol being carried by him but can't remember the model. Maybe a 10?
Thanks for the help guys!

I have several boxes of .38 in my cabinet now from that gun. It most definitely was a .38 but maybe could have been a Model 28. Thanks for a lead though,

I was googling between the two and it definitely looked like a Model 10, now the question is how hard are these to come by now aday?

Just need one in restricted flavour lol! Beat up is ok. Just want one for the range and to put his old grips on. Dad passed away a few years ago and I really want to keep that one in his old cabinet beside his other guns. Kinda cheesey but it would help.

I hope I can find the right one. It wasn't the pencil barrel it was heavy barrel. If anyone has one I would trade or purchase for sure. Guess I will keep an eye out for sure. Thanks for your help sir!

I did 37 yrs with Lands and Forests then MNR after the name change in 72. Was never a CO but carried a Deputies badge for a good part of my career. Deputies were not issued sidearms but I did do sidearm training at Ont Police College . When I first started on the job CO's carried M10's with either 4 or 5 inch thin barrels caliber 38 Spl. A few years later they were all issued New Smith's with 4 inch HB's. CO's had the opportunity to purchase their issue Smith's when they converted to 40's in the 80's. Purchase price was either 50 or 60 bucks. None of the officers I knew bought their guns.
When I first started in '69 my supervisor was still carrying a Webley in 38 S&W.

I remember that when they switched. Dad bought his and after a couple of years he sold it. That's awesome information thanks for that! I looked all afternoon and for the life of me can't find a used Model 10 in Canada. Does anyone have a lead on one?
