Ontario Deer Draw Results

WMU 42 - Unsuccessful (That makes 5 years now.)

Hunting the north bush can be tough going and that interactive results map (posted here a while back) proves it. It is what it is.

Threads like this remind me how fortunate I am to live in an area where getting drawn for antlerless tags has been 100% for decades.

You guys up north are missing out on some good fun. Many times during controlled hunts we have so many shot opportunities that we pick and choose our deer/shots. I’ve dropped a few triples over the years and a bunch of doubles. (y)

Moose? I have zero hope of getting a tag but I keep on applying…

Controlled deer hunt we get tags every year, no problem but the moose…ay! It sucks! Unsuccessful. It truly is once in a life opportunity in Ontario at least. I know folks with 15-19 points who do not get moose tags in Ontario.
Well, it’s a choice. Canvas tents, diesel heaters, a xl cot with extra thick pad is pretty comfortable. Some people are just fixated on hunting in their baxkyard. My backyard is 24 points bull. 2 hours north it drops to 13. Keep driving until the pavement stops, 3 points.
