Can someone please refresh my memory on the Ontario regs for gun and ammo storage when in a camp (i.e. tent)?

I think if I have trigger lock in a case and hidden I should be fine? Not sure what to do with the ammo.

Firearms storage regulations are Federal, not Provincial.

The law states:

"If you are in a remote wilderness area and cannot
lock your non-restricted firearms inside your
vehicle, unload them and put them out of sight.
Attach a secure locking device to the firearms
unless they are needed for predator control."

Interpret that as you see fit.

I camp remotely. XCR-L with Aimpoint on and WML ready all on one side and some coupled LAR mags loaded right beside it. Unloaded only for my safety as people can do weird stuff in their sleep. Lots of wolf & bear around my camp site. Outside help is 2 hours away at best.

Camping anywhere remote where bears, coyotes, or wolves are common = no lock whatsoever, and ammo close by!

Sleep sound my friend..... ;)

I paddle the backcountry most of the summer. My 12ga is never more than a couple of feet away. You can guess whether it's loaded or not.

I'm an ol' pensioner gal, and I travel alone with my Jack Russell terrier. But I sleep very soundly out there.....:)
