Ontario is rewriting the Animal Cruelty Legislation, due to a recent court case, overturn of the OSPCA powers. At present, the OSPCA is not doing any enforcement.

Public input is being solicited via a survey. As hunters, this is our opportunity to influence legislative decisions and protect our heritage rights as hunters.

Please review the reasons for the recent OSPCA court case, private corporation agents entering people's private property, an erosion of our property rights. Criminal charges levied against people without any oversight. Police are held to higher standards, and our private property rights ought not be trod upon by private companies.

I agree, and I am willing to pay extra for professional, accountable services. Replace the unaccountable, unprofessional OSPCA cop wannabe's. Next the OSPCA will be after us hunters, while many OPP (and other Police) are hunters themselves.

Some very good points mentioned why you folks in Ontario should hit that survey and hold toes to the fire.

A Special Interest Group with no checks and balances and accountability equals abuse.

OSPCA "enforcement" is/was filled with wannabe cops who "graduated" from fly-by-night training schools that had no status with the Ministry of Education or regional/municipal/provincial Police service recruitment qualifications. Those courses exist for the sole purpose of sucking government grants dry and leaving students without a leg to stand on when trying to join law enforcement agencies. They operate along the same lines as truck driving schools that leave students unable to drive a nail. It's good they've been shut down. They literally ruined lives with illegal searches and bogus charges. Good riddance.
 
Done no entry to private property without a warrant to search issued by a Justice of the Peace or Judge on resonable grounds to believe and offence has taken place.
