I think you might want to contact the MTO and tell them to update their website to agree with you. Here I thought it was common knowledge that somewhere around the French River area is what divides north and south?

The hunting is great in Ontario, but you do have to venture further North then the 705 area code. We have great hunting and fishing up here in Northwestern Ontario. I realize that the OP wants to move to Southern Ontario but there is a lot more to Ontario then that.

There's some great hunting and fishing in the 705 area code (half of Ontario). It is definitely tougher to get moose tags (although the populations seem stable where I hunt), but the deer, bear, small game and all kinds of fishing can be very good if you're not afraid to get off the main roads.

What are you talking about? There are hundreds of hectares open to the public along with multiple conservation authorities having properties available for a small fee.

There are nearly 40 properties within a 45 minute drive of my house with excellent deer, turkey, rabbit, and grouse populations that are open to the public and free to use. I might run into 3 or 4 people each season?

Ya I'm up in the great white north and crown is being sold to loggers so fast up here I had to buy a couple hundred scrub acres just to have a place to hunt
