Ontario hunting course now online!!

Pretty slick,

Did the Sask Hunter Ed course this last night and this AM, awaiting to hear back from OHEP now with the next step
 
Great news, I know a few folks who wanted to get the course done before fall. Anyone do this, how long did it take for OHEP to finalize your exam?
 
I did mine recently. Did the SK online and 4 days later, exam with an ON instructor. Exam was multiple choice and the instructor would ask you a question and read the choices to you. He/she will make your exam at the end...similar to your CFSC exam while you wait. You can refer to regs but not the course guide. Once done, you get your pass/fail right away. 70 questions and you need 65 right to pass. After that they’ll send you a pic of your exam booklet which you can email to MNRF while you wait on the phone. Once received your outdoors card will be updated and you’ll be able to purchase licenses and tags. SK online course took me 2 days and 2.5 hrs for the ON exam.
 
Just did the Sask course with no issues. Starting to go through the Ontario stuff now. Can anyone fill me in on what sorts of questions the OHEP exam will consist of? Just wondering where I should focus my efforts while studying..

I took my ontario hunter ed exam online. Every question you will be asked will be from the study guide. When registering for the exam look up and ask for Kevin Stroud, great guy. Exam isn't that hard. You can fail 6 answers if I remember correctly.

Just to confirm ....the "study guide" you are referring to is the Ontario Hunter Education Manual ??

Yes, and besides the manual, you also need to be up to date with the Ontario Hunting Regs, Ontario Migratory Bird Regulations, and Ontario Wild Turkey Hunting Information. Links are all on the OHEP site - step 2.

Thanks. 13yo daughter is set to do hers after completing the BC online one.
