I got my R/PAL last month and I've got the itch to acquire my first guns. My Stepfather is giving me his shotguns and I want to buy my myself a Lee Enfield. Do I have to join a club before doing the transfers or purchasing, or is that just for Restricteds?

I fully intend on joining a club this year and I'm thinking about joining Silverdale as I live in the GTA and want to shoot rifle, pistol and shotgun. I might not have time to chekl out the range for a while but may pick up a rifle on the EE if something good comes up.

Sorry if this has been asked a million times but the search criteria yields every answer but the one I am looking for.

No club membership required, Got you PAL your'e good to buy, sell, trade,own..thats it
I have restricted firearms and I dont belong to any club...no worries..and yes they're legal

You can transfer Non-restricted and Restricted into your name regardless of club membership. You just won't be able to take your Restricteds to any range without first obtaining an ATT(authorization to transport) ie: Insert Club membership here.

Silverdale is a great club. If you want to check it out, send me a PM when you will be going and I can show you around

Thanks! I thought I'd read on here that the CFO Ontario wants you to be a club member before you even buy a restricted. I knew about the ATT and needing to be a member of club before getting one.

I definitely want to check out Silverdale and will let you know when I need the tour. The offer is appreciated.
