Ontario: Lever action rifle cartridge limit?

I've poked through my hunting book and I checked out the MNR website but I couldnt find anything that specifically stated if there are limits to the number of rounds you can have in a lever action rifle while you're hunting. It's more then likely that I'm blind, but all I could find was;

You must plug a semi-automatic or repeating shotgun so
that it will not hold more than a total of three shells in the
chamber and magazine combined.

That's the line for shotguns, and I know that it's illegal for semi automatic rifles to be able to hold more then 5 rounds, but I didnt see anything about pump or lever action rifles.

Since I just bought a little .44 magnum lever action, I'm wondering if I need to plug it or anything.

Any help would be appreciated!

"...if I need to plug it..." Nope. Mag size rules apply to detachable mags.
The shotgun rule comes from the Migratory Bird Act. The MNR just decided it applies to any hunting.

The 3 shot rule is for shotguns only, even fully rifled ones.

There is no limit to the number of rounds in a rifle as long as it is not a semi centerfire, then it is limited to a 5 round magazine by federal law. Rimfire rifles do not fall under this law, so 50 round mags in your ruger 1022 are fine.
