Ontario Newbie in the GTA

Welcome to the CGN from southern Ontario.
What are you looking at shooting? Small bore rifle, long range, shotgun?
Lots of good information about everything here.

All of the above…seriously. Was thinking tactical shotgun, 10/22 or similar priced lever action, SKS (because I can for now), and then a long range rifle. The problem is where to shoot them? I’m a strong believer in training/practice, and that’s rather unaffordable and impractical in the GTA.

Well your making some good choices. I'd go for the 10/22 you can add a lot of aftermarket parts and accessories basically trick it out to your taste and shooting.
Can't beat an sks. Tactical shotgun? Sure why not. Unless you want to get into clay shooting then add a 26-32" barreled 12 gauge to your list.
As for ranges sorry can't help you but your on the right track with training and practice.
Hopefully someone can steal you in the right direction.

Thanks! As soon as I find a deal on the 10/22 I’ll pick one up and let the obsession take over!
 
Welcome from SEONTARIO. I’d start looking on the EEhere as soon as you gain access. Usually a few modded 10/22 platform guns but a good quality bolt rimfire should also be a great addition. I live in the country with thousands of acres around my house so shooting isn’t a problem but I also belong to local clubs. I think any big city is definitely going to require a club membership.
