0830 100m Rifle Marksmanship Match briefing
1000 CQC Briefing
1230 Service Pistol Briefing
1500 Range clean up
1600 march out

I’d like to run 3 matches in one day, the match fee covers the day, shoot 1, 2, or all 3 matches. I am planning to run CQC as per the old rules, more or less. We’ll see what kind of firearms people have and how much expensive ammo people want to part with, I think it went pretty well last year despite the short season. I am also going to run a modified DCRA Service Pistol program.

Be on time for the safety briefing for the matches you want to shoot. No briefing, no shooting, no excuses. After shooting you will clean up before you leave.

Close Quarters Competition

Review the old rule book, It’ll basically be the same. If there are issues with the legacy rule book, we will sort them out at the range, and the rule book will be amended. 22LR is fine, pistols with optics are fine. Shoot the whole thing with a rifle/PCC if you don’t have a pistol (thanks Trudeau)

CQC Rulebook

Round Count: 88 “rifle”, 22 pistol

Service Pistol

Review the DCRA rule book and course of fire. I will modify it slightly to suit our timing and range. We won't do all the matches and it will be slightly different. PCC is fine.

Course of Fire

Round Count: 200 ish

100m Rifle Marksmanship Match

Bring any rifle, any calibre (that we can use at Langemark). I cooked this up over COVID and ran a bunch of matches at a gun glub.

Rifle Marksmanship Match

Match fees and Guests

The ORA has set the match fee at $45. The Guest fee is an additional $40. The ORA now has to pay for the use of DND ranges. The increase to the CQC match fee is meant to offset this new cost. The matches should not generally run at a loss.

Show up morning of and take your chances, the odds of us not having the range are low. Bring cash and we'll sign you in. Registration closes a week in advance of the match, as my work schedule can be unpredictable, and I need time to prepare for the match.

for CQC refer to section 5 of the rule book. 5 rifle and 2 pistol mags, but you can get by with 4 rifle mags. There are very few speed reloads, you could load mags out of a pock out dump pouch and still do ok.
For service pistol, 5 is good, 4 will get you by.

I saw the note in the old rules about 4.4lbs min trigger for rifle. I have a 3.5lb duty in both my rifles. Will this be a problem?

I have the 2019 V1.2 CQC Match Rule Book and I can't find anything about trigger pull weight. IMHO, you're good to go. I'm pretty sure there's no later version at this time of the rule book.

Am I crazy…. Or would it be “cheating” to use a 9mm pcc with a red dot? 50yd and under the thing shoots itself on target.
I suppose that’s where PF would come into play?

I don’t know if it’s true, but from what I have heard and understand of ipsc, faster time is worth more then V-bulls/bullseyes, as it is speed based.

Someone feel free to chime in, and add additional info ?
Would a fast 9mm 124gr time , all accurate, beat a 223 55gr or 308 150gr all accurate , but obv slower time?
Hmm.

To me it would feel like cheating with a PCC and RDS. ???

Rifle and Pistol trigger weights at CQC are in accordance with the DCRA NSCC rule book. The expectation is that people that shoot Service Conditions events with the ORA are attempting to be competitive at the National Championships and would use equipment that is allowed at NSCC. Section 4.4 of the CQC rule book;

Rifles/Carbines

Rifles/carbines may be of any centerfire caliber approved for the range
Rimfire rifles/carbines of calibers approved for the range may be used but will not count for score
Rifles/carbines may use any number and type of sighting systems
Iron/open sights
Red dot sights
Magnified optical sights
Laser designators
Etc
Rifles/carbines may use any type of sling
Rifle triggers shall have a minimum pull weight of 2kg (4.4 pounds)
Pistols

Pistols may be of any centerfire caliber approved for the range
Pistols may use any type of sights
Pistol triggers shall have a minimum pull weight of 1.5 kg (3.3 pounds)

4.4lbs trigger requirement comes from the DCRA NSCC rule book, as long as its safe I'm ok with it at CQC.

And for someone like me that doesn't have a pistol and will shoot the whole thing rifle or PCC I suppose I need 6 mags total or 7?
Seems like you made out ok. How many mags did you use? I imagine 7 would have worked out pretty well. Shooting PCC the whole match seemed to work out great.

Thanks to everyone that came out to CQC match 2 this season. It was a great way to spend Father's Day on the range. We had 3 fathers with their children in attendance. This is I think the largest post covid attendance that we had. Thank you very much to Diesel_62 and SP5WAT for their assistance with running the range, and to SP5WAT for tabulating scores. Without our volunteers, these matches would not be possible.

Service Pisotl Match 40 - Last One Standing
Andrew

Thanks to everyone that came out to CQC match 3 this past Saturday. It certainly got hot, and I think I scared off any serious completion when I stripped off my combat shirt. Psychological warfare baby! Thank you very much to Diesel_62 and SP5WAT for their assistance with running the range, and to SP5WAT for tabulating scores. Without our volunteers, these matches would not be possible.

I'm afraid I can't remember if it was SP5WAT or Bruce that won

Hey folks,
I'm very, very late publishing scores on CGN but they have been on practiscore for a while. Thank you to everyone that came out and made CQBm4 a success on September 7. Thank you very much to Diesel_62 and SP5WAT for their assistance with running the range, and to SP5WAT for tabulating scores. Without our volunteers, these matches would not be possible.
