Not to beat an already sore topic: what has everyones experience been with the Ontario CFO stamping and returning test results? When I originally wrote my unrestricted test, I recall it taking almost 5 weeks to get the "stamped" test returned to me.

For those who've written tests in August or September this year - have you gotten your tests back yet? Is there anything (sending timmies gift certs?) that can be done to improve the speed of service in Orillia?

Cheers.

Examiner mailed Sept 5. No sign of it yet. I'd also appreciate any tips on how to light a fire under them. I'm considering making a complaint with the Ombudsman. I know they don't want folks to have guns, but that doesn't mean they can be obstructionist by introducing endless delays for a rather questionable purpose (eliminating some microscopic amount of fraud on test result documents).

I'm in the US right now and if the folks in this state want to buy a gun, they just freaking go into a gun store and buy one (although there is a 7 day waiting period on handguns). There is none of this nanny-state exam, certification and registration Orwellian nonsense.

i challenged the exam on aug 15th and got the stamped results in about a week and a half roughly.

sent in my application on the 17th (well that's when they got it) of this month and it's currently "in progress". i did my interview and one of my references has, but from the sounds of it i may not have had to according to my buddy. either way i would expect it to get here by the end of October.

Spawn-Inc That sucks bro. Unless you have a criminal record or a history of mental illness (I'm borderline ;)) then you shouldn't need an interview to get your license after having passed all your prerequisites.

I put myself as a reference for a good life long friend of mine and they called me today playing 100 questions. When did this start? is it new?

Seriously I was asked at least 8 questions about his potential violent behavior given various situations. The guy is a saint (Jebus I think his name is) so like any other terrorist, i told them what they wanted to hear.
I was kinda shocked at the questions but went along with them for my friends sake without making a mess of things as usual.

Not only are they taking guns out of our hands, but now are bullying new shooters who want to engage the sport.
The uphill battle gets steeper.

I did both my RPAL/PAL on August 22, they were mailed out on the 24th of August, I got them back September 8th. It's just a waiting game nothing really can be done...people are trying to complain against the Ontario CFO but as far as I know sit back and just

Took approx. 4 weeks for me to get my RFSC test results back from CFC-Ontario. Took another 7 weeks to get my RPAL. Gotta protect the public from us bad people.

took me 3 weeks to get it back. I sent out my application the same day. after they recieved it - it took exactly 28 days (minimum 28 day wait) to get it approved and on day 29 it was mailed out to me. all in all, it took about 7 weeks from test to PAL

Last year at this time it was taking 12 - 14 weeks to get the stamped results back. The excuse was hunting season, but there is always some excuse for the excessive delays in Ontario.

personally I've been waiting since july 26th, nothing yet

Wow, that's over 2 months now. Unless you're really zen about the whole thing, you should get on the phone to the CFO and your MPP.

Me, I've been waiting 25 days and I'm getting increasingly irritated. How long can it possibly take to look up my examiner on the approved list and stamp/mail?

I guess you could do an FOI on your name with the CFO Office. Might find out dates from the forms when viewed or received .

Had my exams on Aug 15. Waited for a month with no answer. Called in and they told me they had "lost" the documents for 2 weeks........but they were found and would be processed within a week and a half. A week is almost gone by and nothing has shown up. My application has been in Miramichi since the beginning of Sept. and is just waiting on the results from the CFO. I'm beginning to lose my patience, how can they say they "lost" the documents and then they found them again with a straight face ? The least they can do is rush it through after all that BS.....

Have you considered filing a complaint with the Ontario Ombudsman for this?

Here are the coordinates of the Ontario CFO for your convenience. I was transferred to someone called Deb in the Education section. She was quite pleasant and claimed that they are processing 2500 applications a week at this time of year and it takes 4-5 weeks to receive results. Her extension is 7514 if anyone else would like to have a chat with her.

Office Phone (705) 329-5522

I guess the good news is that if they are processing 2500 a week, pretty much everyone in the province is going to have a gun soon. :)

Restricted test taken september 4th, results received on the 28th.
Myself and my father also took the non-restricted test the week before, and both received our results 3 weeks later.

As a followup to ohiopotato, he's been calling around and getting no real answers, just alot of "we'll call you back". His tester told him his test was lost by the OPP and found recently, but I suspect the tester forgot to mail it.
