IMO…the worst part about the process is getting a "Status". The wait time on the phone is frustrating. They could at least indicate how long the wait time is.
In this day and age of Online access (to just about everything) why isn't there a system to get a current status of a transfer by entering some Required info(Ref#, name, etc.) or am I missing something? Could be less painful for everyone involved. All I want is to get that TATT so I can mail the Buyer their Restricted ASAP.
STATTs are normally issued immediately as soon as you can get through on the phone to the CFO (call the main CFC number, then 1, 1, x7503).
It's the restricted transfers approvals that are delayed - you should be fine getting an STATT quickly assuming that the transfer has already been approved...
I agree with you and I've done this enough times to know the drill. My beef is getting advised that a transfer has been approved. Normally, after a long delay for Approval the Buyer receives a mail notification (another delay) then contacts the Seller(Me). I then have to call the Provincial CFC which usually requires an unspecified wait time in the queue. However, once thru…yes the issuing of the TATT is quick.
Why can't I do all this Status checking online? If I (or the Buyer) sees it as Approved…I can call in for the TATT. Seems more effective use of resources but what do I know…..rant over.
If you ask that the transfer notice be emailed to you when it is approved, you can avoid the "snail mail" step of having to wait for the transfer notice at least. This does help speed things up.
