Been hunting wmu's 84 and 82A my whole life and this year I'm hearing about a lot of guys not getting drawn in these areas this year. Its been 20 years or more since the last time I didn't get a doe tag for 84 or heard of people getting shut out of the draw. I know we've had a couple hard winters but seeing as many deer as ever. Did the quotas get lowered or is there an increase in the number of applicants to the deer draw by cheesed of moose hunters(I'm one) that are trying something different?

During turkey season down that way in the spring we found many caracasses from winter die off and coyote predation... there still seemed to be a lot of deer though.

Haven't seen any deer in my area over the summer, and as far as I can tell quota's are way down.

No luck here this year for me or the father in law, and we haven't been refused a doe tag in the last 3 years.

Grouse numbers have also been seemingly lower which leads me to believe the fox & coyote population is on the rise.

we have had 100% draw in 90b for 25 years and this year I am hearing of guys not getting draw for doe tags ,,,I hunt with the bow and the shotgun hunt and we are not in any way having a shortage of deer ,,I would really love to know who the heck is setting are deer quotas ,,,last winter we were seeing over 100 head in just one small yard ,,there is lots of deer down along the lake ,in area 90 ,as well ,,,Dutch

According to the numbers they are offering the same amount of tags as they did in 2013-2014 and now 2015....if the numbers posted by MNRF are right.... it has to be that more people are applying for this area....I was lucky and got mine... :)

Mine were cut in half, WMU67. Went from 800 to 400. I haven't gotten an antlerless tag in 6 years, including this year. They used to be 100% when I started hunting there 8 years ago. And pretty much all I see are does...

Same drill across the border. Many Zones (WMU's) in WNY are not issuing Doe Tags (regular rifle season) to Non-Residents and limited amount to residents, due to harsh winter kill.

I am not so sure last winter winter was so harsh...for the deer. While it was damn cold, there was not a lot of snow, so movement and foraging was still possible. Lack of deep snow probably help deer evade the coyotes too. 2013/2014 was a hard winter for them and that seemed to be confirmed by many hunters I spoke with. My group of 4 guys did very well with a doe and a buck, but that was not the norm. The vastly more experienced guys (than me) I started hunting with last year believe they are getting smarter, at least in my wmu, due to increased pressure etc. We had many, many great pics of does and bucks on cams after 8PM, but saw very few in the early morning and evening.

We had a lot of snow here last winter.

Live in 84, and hunt both 82a and 84. Haven't applied for tags here in years as I always apply for 43b, which I have been unsuccessful in getting a doe tag the last 2 years after many consecutive years of getting doe tags.
Lots of deer activity in 82a and 84, as much as any other year. 43b never makes sense to me that doe tags aren't 100%, deer everywhere, but less doe tags being given out. Last year I hunted 2 days plus an hour the 3rd day and seen over 75 deer.
