Not sure the story on them, but when I saw one at the Provost Gun Show last spring I picked it up. Looks like NOS from one of the vendors that was their.
 
I have one, it ran good for the first little bit then had nothing but issues, replaced every single internal with Remington parts, only part I didn't change was the disconnect and low and behold that broke too, have the Remington one sitting at home from Brownells just have to put it in, have way too much time energy and money into it to ever think about selling it.

Also installed an EZ loader release on it too, the original trigger group piled up so hard to bent the follower and everything.
