Hello everyone.
I have 2 issues on seperate rifles that I don't know what to do exactly.
I checked the stickies but may have missed what I am looking for.

1) On rifle #1 the op rod guide is loose. I can move it with my fingers about a good 1/8.
How do I tighten this, and what is the proper alignment?

2)Rifle #2 the op rod is now chewing away at the Chinese stock. It did not do this on the first 100 rounds. So what is causing this, and what is the fix?

Thanks in advance from the rainy interior.

roll pins

Yes I have some new roll pins to drive in and I hope that will do it to tighten up #1, but perhaps you might direct me to the correct post that will address why my op rod is chewing up my stock. Yes I can dremel it out to make more space but it doesn't address why its doing it. When I tear it down the op rod virtually falls out versus my other one that is tight.

Hi .With regard to the rifle chuing (get it) up the stock, have you taken the top hanguard off and put it back together and see how things moved? Move it slowly at first and then fast to replicate firing.Maybe the op rod guide roll pin is broken or the guide is really out of alignment.

The roll pin in my op rod guide turned into over 6 fragments with a small ball peen hammer and 1/8th punch. Once it starts to break up the guide will flop about all over the place.

I forget where, but on this form there is a solution to #1 posted by 45ACPKING I beleive.

Locktite, a punch and a hammer made #1 no more on my norc.

Possible reason?

A local guy I know has suggested that I might be experiencing excessive pressures due to shooting S.A surplus ammo. He suggested I look at the primers, so I examined the primer pockets on new vs fired and noticed that on all my fired ones are no longer concave and below the casing head, rather they are expanded out past the head and protrude. Is this a real indicator or just normal function?
He thinks this may be the issue. So I looked at my op rod and it is no longer perfectly straight. But I don,t know if it was straight to begin with.
So how important is it that my op rod is straight? Or should I not worry and just keep shooting it?
