Op-rod question.

Is it normal, on an m14s/m14/m305/m1a, to be able to work the op rod out of the channel on the side of the receiver without removing the trigger group?

I've searched for this answer hi and low.

If it is normal, does it seem like a design flaw?

If it's back at the notch, then yes it can be worked out. If you can do it anywhere along the channel it rides in then you've got a worn tab on the op rod.
