I just finished building an m14 that has a Kireger heavy barrel and everything seamed fine with it untill I put a mag in it and pulled back the op rod. when the gun is empty the action is very smooth but soon as there is a mag in the rifle, the action is super rough. also if you pull straight back or down and back on the op-rod it feels great but when you pull up and back its rough. after taking the rifle apart I noticed that the op rod was scratching the barrel where it makes contact on the right side. I tried polishing the surface of the barrel in this area and polished the op rod on where it touches the barrel but after a couple of cycles the mirror finish that I put on both pieces was all scratched to heck. with the standard barrel this isn't an issue because the area thats being contacted is cut away. The action is so rough that it won't eject a round when there is a mag in the gun but if its empty it runs great. seems that any upward pressure what so ever is making the barrel and the op rod bind. what should I do?? i have tried polishing and greasing the heck out of it. and am lost for direction at this point

Uh...why are you firing your rifle before you have had a proper check over of the operation of the main components...

Without the oprod spring and guide, how is the oprod and bolt working back and forth. Are they sliding nicely doing the 30 deg test?

Are you sure the oprod guide is properly aligned?
