I'm trying to find just a simple open choke or cylinder for my Remington 870 express tactical (shooting flare rounds). Literally cannot find a simple cylinder, everything is all modified cylinder stuff.

Does anyone know where I can get an open choke/cylinder for my 870? And a choke wrench?

You will probably have more luck finding a 'Skeet' choke [not Skeet 2 or Improved Skeet] or Improved Cylinder, the two half sizes after plain Cyl. Or the Remington 'Tactical Breacher' which is basically an extended ported Cyl that looks pointy. I'm not sure I have a screw-in Rem Choke in Cylinder myself, but I do have all the others I mentioned, as well as barrels with fixed Cyl bores.

Choke wrenches I got everything from a coin, a blade type, jacknife with choke blade, short handle, T handle, longer handle with a swivel 'speed wrench' (my choice as best)... Some will have a square hole on top to attach a ratchet if your choke is rusted in. Almost any gun store will have *something*.

Many web sites, however, might not list all the plain jane Rem chokes and wrenches they have in-store; it's small potatoes to some. Might be better if you drop in to a local store. Even the Cabela's site ain't got 'em, just the fancy Turkey and expensive duck tubes and such...

I see a bunch of chokes and wrenches on Ellwood Epps, including those I suggested.

Any shop that sells Remington 870's either will have the I/C in stock or will get it for you.
Along with a choke wrench of course ...Reliable on Fraser Street is one of many site sponsors think clay @ Prophet River as well.

He's looking for a CYL not IC, IC has more constriction than even a SK choke. He's looking for no restriction.

OP check Ellwood Epps, they always have a good selection of chokes. If you're not concerned if it's factory or aftermarket check with Lawry's too, they carry alot of chokes by Briley. I've bought true CYL Briley chokes from them for several makes.
