I've got a spare c-more, and got a new open gun hanging around, so I'm thinking I might try to do it right.

But what kind of holster are people using when handguns have big scopes, compensators, and long magazines?

The only real solution I know of are these crazy ghost holsters that leave the whole gun exposed:

I'm a little worried about dropping rediculous money on a fancy holster and getting DQed when it drops my gun in the dirt.

What are some alternatives? Cloth adjustable holsters like the Tasmanian Tiger?

In theory, you would only be running on the timer, and your gun should be in hand. Those exposed holsters are generally pretty good retention unless they are bumped upwards. You will get DQ'd for other things long before that gun pops out!

There is a secondary lock on the holsters. With that secondary lock turned on the gun will NOT fall out. Cartwheels and all.
Lock is easily disengaged during the draw if you forget about it.

I have a DAA one I can show you and show the rentention if you like.

Sorry, I guess more information is needed as to the game/sport you will be playing. Multigun? Most holsters are fine if they have an adjustable retention screw. If you are going to be doing roundhouse kicks, backflips and jumping out of helicopters, then maybe something like a modified Gcode OST or safariland with the secondary safety is what you need. Again this will all depend on what you want to do with it.

I have a DAA racemaster, the draws feel like butter. The locking mechanism works very well. Depending on your gun though you made need to dremel areas of the block to make it work with your firearm (I just used sand paper as I don't have a dremel yet). Saul has videos on how to do all of that though. The racer is also an option, but I am not familiar with it.

Edit: If the racemaster is locked the gun will not fall out. I can hold mine upside down and it will not fall out. With most of the open holsters you need to lock it in. There is a magnetic holster from Manny Bragg, but I don't like the idea of rubbing my frame on magnetics.

I didn't realize there was a secondary lock on these things.

I'm shooting the MGM Ironman in June, where every stage requires the shooter to use rifle, pistol, and shotgun. There's also an awful lot of "wild" stages that require the shooter to clear a tunnel, move a 100lb dummy, ride a zipline, scale a 30 foot tower, etc.

I'm not confident I need a DAA yet for the competition. Its possible that a properly cut custom kydex would work too.

Ghost. There are two locking modes on these holsters. For just walking around, locking lever up. For drawing from locked, locking lever down and it sweeps off with the middle finger Ger as you draw. Very fast and when locked, the gun isn't coming out. You can't pull through the lock.
You can also draw from unlocked, which is also fast.

hi TV, will you be running your jerichos for this setup?

Well not both!

But yes, the compact with the brake is being built as an open gun, and the fullsize is coming along as a backup.

I'm looking for a holster for the compact. If everything ships and holds up under training that gun will have a 33 round magazine, a cmore optic, and a light laser on it. So conventional holsters could be tricky.

Looks like custom kydex, soft-cloth adaptable, or uber-slick DAA are the 3 options.

i like the CR Speed models, but and prefer to have the lower part that muzzle sits on..and the full bottom, not just the nub for bore to rest on... this, I can't see affecting the draw, but
does add support on bottom...if you accidentally bump gun (and forget to lock it, which happens, brain fart), then lower support may hold gun long enough (if you noticed in time) to regrab and pull back and lock... I personally wouldn't use the one that just trigger guard rests on...is that the ghost ? not sure of model name. if bump gun with this model, will fall. I don't see any benefit of this model, personally.
