Open gun need advise

No, it does lower the sight to the bore, but it's a ##### to sight in. Also it puts the switch and diode in the line of fire for brass coming out of the port.
I would recommend getting a mount from Josko @ Doubletap sports. They sit pretty low and are plenty strong.

This type of C-more mount is used primarily on 9mm guns because they tend to eject in an upward direction which can cause double feed jams when a 9mm case ejects back into the breach area.
If you are not shooting 9mm then this is not the best solution, the advantage of a c-more scope is that you can see more, this is best done with the scope mounted upright.
If you think this will help you find the dot better, it will not, more practice, like dry fire will.
If you think this will lessen felt recoil, it will not, actually a higher mount will place the bore lower where you can control it more as your wrists will be straighter.
If you think it looks cool, go for it, but cool does not a better score make.

With a little practice you would correct the distance...there is program that I used to sight my gun's it take the distance between the center of the bore and the scope....and it give you the ideal distance to sight it...for mine 23 yard, the difference between 10 meter -1.02" and 50 meter is + 1.02" so since I have been using a 8 moa dot there is practicaly no sighting different between these two distance, now I'm not talking about the Bary Mount (steel gun minor) but rather my Open Major Dawson.....upright mount.
I see no difference between the 2 scope concept when I shoot them, neither is easier to acquired or to see the next target, I uses the Barry on the STinger that has always give me problem's with inconsistent ejection (without this mount the gun was only working 95% of the time, with it 110%).
Oh and I'm a left hand so I my racker is on the rigt side of the gun's

Upsides: Dot closer to bore axis so indexing off the top of the slide is possible (I index off the side or the scope body itself for close stuff with mine so the advantage here is negligible). Clean ejection.
Downsides: Difficult to sight in. Scope has to be modified to place adjustment screws on other side. Single sided mount so not as strong. Mass of the scope body blocks vision for left indexes, so you are settling onto targets (close arrays) more or less blind. You will need a right hand side cocking handle fitted, which is fine if you are left handed. Not as nice if you are right handed.
For me, if I absolutely had to get the dot lower for some reason I'd go with an Aimpoint. They offer the added benefit of no dot wash-out when the sun is behind you, and batteries last forever.

Hi......if you check out other forums such as Brian Enos's you will find reference to the Barry mount.......the ONLY problem people seem to have is in sighting in and can be rectified by moving the adjustments to the LEFT side of the C-More........I believe Henning Wallgren is now using it also on his Open gun (and has also switched adjustments to the Left side)........I now have 2 of these mounts but have not had the time to mount one yet on my Open blaster
