I am looking to add an open reflex red dot to my SP01 Shadow. I currently use it for IPSC with it's iron sights, but the old eyes are having troubles seeing them properly. Based on the budget imposed on me by my financial officer (wife ;) ), I'm looking at either a Votex Venum (3 MOA), Sig Romeo1 or Burris Fastfire 3. I will obviously need a mount (dovetail to replace my rear sight) as well and that is included as part of said budget. I've read reviews on all and they all get good reviews for the most part.

Has anyone used 2 or all 3 of these that can offer their opinion?

Thanks.

I have the Vortex Viper 6 moa on my Shadow 2 and it works well. No problems so far. 6 moa is plenty fine for handgun shooting and may be a visibility advantage. The only negative I read about the Viper is the battery is under the unit. That so far has not been a problem. It returns to zero when removed from the base, and the battery hasn't run down yet either. Also, it makes it secure and easy to change the battery, because its not under a fine screw on cover that might get stripped. I'd recommend it, but then again its the only thing I've used other than trying a Sig Romeo1 a couple of times.

I've had a Vortex Viper, Venom and DeltaPoint Pro on my Shadow before settling on an FTP Alpha 2 Optic. The bigger window is a big factor on these dots on a Shadow and Why I gravitated to the FTP Alpha 2 optic. They are on sale currently and are a great value compared to other dots in the same price point. For a Mount I would use a Henning mount versus the Springer precision, I had one of those and the Henning turn out to be much more secure. I have a Venom 3MOA on a .22 and a Romeo One also 3 MOA on the Sig P320RX.
The Sig seems a little "crisper" and I like the motion activation, the lens is also larger so it has a larger field of vision. A bonus for IPSC / fast target acquisition.
Having said that, there is nothing wrong with the Vortex and it is considerably more cost effective than the Sig. You can't go wrong with either
I had a Bushnell First Strike, but at 5MOA wasn't nearly as good for 25 yard target and didn't hold zero as well. Can't comment on the Fastfire
