Not too many of us out there with 673s I would venture to say. I inherited mine and will be leaving it in my will. The first thing I noticed, however, on my initial trip to the range, was the fact that the open sights were quite poor. I had the rear sight cranked hard all the way to one side for correct windage and gave up trying to adjust for elevation. I had never experienced this in a rifle before, so I was not happy. I did, however, decide immediately to put a 1-4x20 Leupold scope on the rifle (on a one piece Leupold mount in STD low rings) and I have never looked back. This rifle is simply one of my all time favourites. Being based on the Model 7 makes is light, short, and quick on target...hence the low power scope in this application. It is minute of angle now at 100 yards if I do my part, and as I reload I am not concerned about the very expensive factory ammo issue. I like the rib too. :) Please let us know what you decide to do.
