Operating differences between 870/590?

I own an HP9 and feel pretty comfortable with how it operates. But i was watching the magpul shotgun video and they mentioned that the Mossbergs function differently from the Remingtons. Just wondering what those differences are? How would they affect slug changeovers and things of that nature?

Different location of safety and slide release, somewhat different drill when unloading the mag without cycling through the action - probably something else also but I can't think what it is. FWIW I have several 870's and 2 500/590's and I don't really have any trouble interchanging them...
