Hello all:

I am planning on ordering a finished Boyds stock in Nutmeg Laminate from DM Premium Firearms.

Here is a link to the one I have my eye on: http://tinyurl.com/m14stock

Does anyone have any experience with this stock? I’d love to hear your opinions.
Is it a good price? ($126 USD)
How difficult is it to remove the metal hardware from the Chinese Mystery Wood stock and put it on the Boyds?

I know that they are no longer shipping to Canada… but I have my ways.

Thanks.

Sorry, I just bought that! It's no longer available to you! I may sell it next week for $250. Just kidding, but why would you show everybody what you want to buy, before you buy it. It's counterproductive to your needs/wants.

They wont ship across the border anymore apparently...

As per website:

We are NO LONGER shipping any gun related items outside of the United States of America. We apologize about any inconvenience this may cause.

Yes, I read that.

Back to the original question - opinions, experience, etc.

I have a pepper laminate stock... I love it. But it is really wide and can be slippery. I recommend wearing gloves or putting clear grip tape on the front end. It will need to be bedded properly as the tolerances inside are huge and you wont get any accuracy without a bedding job. Other then that, I love mine.

What does the rig in the pic weigh Merlin?

Thanks,
D.

Sold mine. Too FAT for my small hands. Beauty of a stock thought! Would jump at a type one if I could find one.

Its not light... 12.5 lbs with the Aimpoint on it. Like the other guys are saying, the stocks are really thick and big.

Im 6'7 and have hands like a bear so it actually works perfect for me, but everyone that I have let handle the gun tells me that that front end is to fat. Some grip tape or gloves definitely helps the grip though.

For me, it is actually the pistol grip part of the stock rather than the forearm that is too thick

Well, I am now hearing that the "new" M14s from Norinco are shipping with synthetic stocks so I am looking forward to seeing one. Any one have any photos? Boyds are great stocks, but after shipping, exchange, maybe it is better just to buy a new M14 with the new stock?

It is a big stock. But very stable.

Minor fitting to mine but no bedding, best grouping has been about 2 MOA with Norc stell ammo.

Wow, heavier then I expected!

Thanks.
