Hello Folks.
Having picked up a TAVOR last week would love to hear opinion on Scopes.

I picked up the following,
http://www.alflahertys.com/collections/optics/products/burris-scope-mtac-combo-1-4x24mm-30mm-tube-w-fastfire-iii-p-e-p-r-mount-ballistic-cq-5-56-reticle-200437-ff

I feel it look's great on my rifle, and the 1x option on the scope has been great. I have not used the red dot too much as I have mostly done shooting at 10-30 yards.

Is this a reasonable scope to keep on my rifle, or should I aim for something else? I see ALOT of love for Ecotech scopes.

I have a Tikka T3 .308 that I use another Burris scope on and have been pretty happy with it.

The desire is to have this TAVOR for CQC and shots under 300 meters.

Regards,

JR

What are the basic benefits of that scope?
in my opinion after using one for close to 2 years on my hebrew hammer
pros:
tough as a tank(no really! it really is tough as a tank)
glass as clear as Swarovski
fast switch from 1x to 4x without any deviation from zero
illumination from a dot to full reticle but not too much to be distracting
easy clicks
and bullet drop compensator and the basic range indicator
made in Canada with outstanding quality control (not china)
a true 1x, not 1.2x or 1.3x blurry

cons:
price
parallax
weight
uses a weird battery

the pros justify the price

The exsisting scope I have was just shy of $700. Price isn't a huge issue, quality and long term fit are.

So what product am I looking to find exactly? Unfortunately Al's doesn't seem to have the Specter DR.

wolverine supplies has the Elcan I think or they can order it fir you. i think they might just have the 1.5-6x in stock at the moment.

Hrmm..

That may be doable but would scale back on my purchase of a shotty.

The initial scope I purchased, is it a bad scope. Or will it make due / be reasonable to my needs?

now.. I did say price wasn't an issue.. but when the scope is the price of my gun..

really, it will be fine, but you asked for the best options so... Im usually quite picky with optics, i have no tolerance for annoying things going on with my zero or blurry glass or any other things that can put me in a bad mood.

I just upgraded from an ACOG to the Elcan Specter DR for my Tavor. I think it's the ideal optic for the Tavor, really love that instant switch from 1x to 4x. Canadian made to boot!
