Opinion on the rem 700 XCR compact.

I'm looking into it as my main bolt gun for hunting in Quebec, meaning 30-50 yard bush range, and my precision/sniper match gun. I know, I know the 20" short barrel but I don't plan on winning medals. I'm just going to be good with this potential rifle and it's limitations, if there is one, for the tasks I command it to perform.

Not the forum to be asking this sort of question... guns are what you make of them: if you use it for your intended purpose, have at 'er. Factory guns are sometimes good and sometimes schitty. It is a good platform for turning into a true precision rifle is that is the way you go down the road.

I have had a great time with my rem 700 ltr. Out of the box it was solid rifle ... for an out of the box.
