Opinion on Vortex viper pst 6-24x50

I went through this last year and ended up with a bushnell elite tactical 6-24x50. Clearer than a vortex pst, it's ffp, mine has the g2 reticle which I like. The only minor downside which isn't a problem for me is the non-locking turrets.

realy? before buying a few years ago when I took them outside at WSS and took a gander at the building 800m away it was night and day, the vortex was clear the bushnells were hazy in comparison. like the diferance oh being able to read a sign far away with the vortex and with the bushnell being able to see that its a sign.

I know that the new generations of vortex aren't as good as a few years ago, been seeing a lot of issues in the diamond backs... but I didn't think they were that bad now.

I waited a year for mine to arrive. It was definitely worth the wait. Been a Vari-Xlll guy my whole life...the Viper PST FFP is far superior to my Leupold. Yes, it tracks extremely accurately. Mine is the MRAD edition. The on/off/on etc on the illuminati reticle is intelligent as you can adjust to the rising or falling sun incrementally with ease. Never used an illum reticle prior and really like Vortex's example. With the sunshade on, yup, she's long...but so what really? It sits on a Sendero and I pack this combo wherever I go when I'm hunting an area where I can let this rig stretch its legs. Weight is of no consideration to me as I'm not at 8000 feet shooting a Billy across the valley after a 4 day pack in. Unless you're 130lbs all geared up and headed straight up a mountain, I'd highly recommend the Viper PST FFP. I use the 6-24X50 on this set up. So impressed that I bought Vortex optics for my 223 set up and the Viper binos. In my opinion only, you can buy better but the returns on investment don't warrant the extra cost. I say this never having looked thru a S&B or any other super expensive optic. I don't feel I could benefit from anything beyond the PST personally.
