First of all I'm posting this as a result of a EE gone wrong, In my opinion at least. No names will be mentioned. I ask your opinions before I leave feedback. Please tell me if I'm right or wrong. I have read the rules and conditions of this forum and if I interpret them correctly I am not doing anything wrong.

Q: If you had for sale some berdan primed rifle brass that you knew was military, would you list it for sale as for example 5.56 or .223 or 7.62 or .308 etc.
A: I would describe it as best I can.

Q: Would you consider metric measure as miltary and standard as commercial?
A: I do.

Q: Do you know the difference? (Again just asking)
A:I do.

Q: If you wanted one of those and received the other, would you have an issue?
A: I do.

Again, I'm just asking.

Thanks for your input,

Ax

I agree with all your answers, if it was advertised incorrectly you should talk to the seller and return the product for a full refund...If he makes it right then move on, he not leave the appropriate feed back....

Just remember complaining about the EE in the forum is not permitted...This is why there is a feed back system...:)

Seems a bit underhanded that the guy would not mention if it was Berdan primed, on the other hand, if your looking for brass that could go either way perhaps more questions could have been asked!
I'll side with you, seller should have specified.

I'd call it military and specify the type of primer. To not do it is either trickery, or the guy didn't know any better - best to find out before you tar him in feedback.

A: I do.

I would too.

I've been made aware

Absolutely I would. If the seller had mil brass that he knowingly passed off as commercial I'd spin out.

Just to clarify, in my first question I mentioned it was listed as berdan primed. It was listed as berdan primed .308. I expected to get commercial brass based on that. I bought a bunch of commercial .308 berdan at a gun show a couple years back that was marked .308. I don't recall the manufacturer and didn't save any brass because it was berdan.

I also didn't mention the brass in question is CBC 75 7.62 which was recalled due to exploding rifles. I believe it was due to too much powder, however it wasn't disclosed as recalled components which I refuse to use. That is my second issue which for me is more serious than the first.

Thanks for your replies, and again I'm just trying to get some feedback without mentioning any names and to be politically correct as possible in doing so. I will admit I didn't ask if it was military and the pic did look old but .308 is .308 and that is what I expected to get.

The DCRA used that same lot of CBC Berdan primed brass for the traget rifle ammo they used for a couple years after they switched from military ball to match ammo. The CBC brass was loaded with CBC ball powder and Sierra bullets. It was approved by the explosives branch, too.

There is nothing wrong with the brass. In fact, it produces very accurate - one shot ammo.

But it is not commercial and the powder charge should be reduced by about 2 grains.

If it is the brass i think it is, I assume you were paying around 15 cents each. hard to imagine brass that cheap being commercial.
