Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on this, specifically between the Surefire X300 and the TLR-1 CE4... Better bang for the buck, build, quality.. etc

Basically, I'm trying to decided which one I should get for my S&W M&P 9mm.

Thanks for the input everyone..

I'm very happy with the X300. It costs a little bit more...so what? This is something that will last you for years.

The Streamlight's mounting system is inferior, in my opinion.

General consensus should/would be Surefire if you can afford it and/or you know you will need it in a life or death situation (so if you don't live in Canada), but Streamlight is "good enough" for hobby range shooting. Not knocking Streamlight at all, it's all I use because I can't justify spending 2.5-3 times as much for Surefire for something that is just a hobby. If I lived in a country that allowed home defence with a firearm (not trying to start this debate but it's clear we don't live in a country with the Castle Laws), I would be investing in Surefire.

The streamlight weaponlights are decent lights and are pretty good bang for the buck considering they are priced well below the Surefire lights. but that said, the X300 is the standard against which all other lights are judged. And for good reason.

I own a Surefire X300, but if i was on a tighter budget I would have gone with the Streamlight.

I own a TLR-1S, a Surefire X200a and an Insight M3....

each two are LED and one is incandescent, to really judge a light you should check it out before you buy it and see how YOUR eyes adjust to the light, for some people LEDS foreverlook dim....

frankly I like my x200 surefire, but I have about 3k rounds on the M3 and it has yet to break or need anything besides a wipe down and cleaning.

For the two night shoots I will shoot each year a Garrison light from Canadian Tire - .$20. 110 Lumins. Hand held. Looks like a Surefire knock off.

If I was in security work or a LEO where my life might depend on the light then any of the above.

Take Care

Bob

I have a x300 and it is a solid piece of kit. It offers multiple mounting options as well as several different switches for activation depending on what you have it attached to.
But as all others have said it is the better option if it fits in your budget.
There is nothing wrong with the TLR-1 or the M3 except for the fact that they are not the x300

Work = Surefire
Play = Streamlight

Since I don't work with them the TLR is just fine. If I was in harms way I could justify a Surefire.

Thanks for the input everyone... I was leaning towards the X300 as well, but the Strobe feature seemed like a nice addition to a weap light.
