Hello guys and girls,

I would just like to get your opinions on the Mossberg Blaze. I have seen good reviews on YouTube and throughout the internet. I would like to find out what the people of CGN think.

BTW, if we can not have the Mossberg Blaze 47 (prohib by name) wouldn't it be amazing if a company could import the furniture for the Blaze 47 and buyers could slop it on the Blaze at home. But of course the RCMP might create another CZ-858 Spartan situation. Food for thought.

Anyway, need opinions from owners on the Blaze.

R.

Hold one.. then hold something else... you'll run away from it... the plastic is just plastic and feels less real than a dollar store squirter gun.

I have sold a few and still have one on the shelf.

They look cool from a couple feet away, but myself as well can't get over what it feels like when you actually take hold of it. Could easily be mistaken for a toy gun that was a common Christmas present back when I was a kid (we didn't know back then that playing with toy guns would turn us into violent serial killers).

But like the dozens of other models, rimfire or centerfire, today that are made super cheap, shooting accurately is not one of their downfalls. Today just about every gun "off the shelf" is already more accurate then the average shooter will ever be. I have also never personally heard of a warranty claim with any of the cheaper Mossberg 22's. But to be fair, save a few recalls the percentage of warranty claims compared to sales of new guns is close to non-existent from the well established, typical production guns (Savage, Mossberg, Rem et al).

I got one yesterday.

The reviews on it are strangely good, and it is made of plastic. The stock is a hollow plastic held together by a bunch of screws, but this also makes it very light. If you're looking for an el-cheapo rifle that's light enough to throw in a pack and cheap enough that you're not going to worry about it too much then it's worth looking into. It's metal where it needs to be metal but polymer elsewhere.

It's not top-of-the-line, but at the price, you don't expect it to be.

Mine came with a Dead Ringer Green Dot sight and extra 25 round magazine. (Since apparently I'll never be able to get 25 round magazines for my Ruger 10/22 again, but that's a different topic I guess).

It's the first rifle by Mossberg I've bought and I haven't had a chance to get to the range yet (I'm hoping tomorrow) but it doesn't seem shoddy, even with the polymer everywhere.

What do you want to do with it? Targets/plinking, nuisance animal removal?
