Hi Guys,

I'm looking into this chassis:

https://store.xtremegunshootingcenter.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=158_159&products_id=709#.YArhfnb0mHs

Anyone have real world experience? Wanna share what are the pros and cons?

Planning on a build with a Remy 700 SA repeater in .308

Any input is much appreciated.

Thanks

It is a knock-off. All their "in house" brands are.

XG PRS PRO chassis = XLR knock-off
Xtreme Gun Kelbly Atlas Chassis/Stock Single Shot = Dolphin knock-off
XTREME GUN ARCA Single Plate = Grey Ops knock-off
GEAR BOX = Rempel bipod knock-off
GUN Saddle = Hog saddle knock-off
ALPHA rest = SEB Neo knock-off (they even say SEB Neo bags won't fit without modification. LoL)

What exactly do you want to do with the rifle? What kind of shooting do you do?

There's a lot of great chassis and stock options out there today. Personally, I think there is more refined chassis options out there then the one you are currently looking at.

The KRG Bravo is an excellent chassis for the price, it punches way above it's price point. KRG supports it with a plethora of accessories, so you can really dress it up in any manner you would like.

Alternatively, the CADEX nuke chassis is another more "budget" friendly option, that seems well thought out. I have no experience with this particular chassis, but it looks well made.

MDT is another Canadian option that makes excellent products, specifically chassis', and at all price points.

That is Extreme Gun Center's knock of the Dolphin F class Chassis.
I know a guy who competed with one at Nokomis (but his for a Panda Action single shot).
He used an liked it for sometime.

I looked at this very stock for F TR usage.
I decided however that I didn't want a knock off, so I got the an actual Dolphin 700 SA repeater from Wolverine Supplies. So I spent an extra $100 to get the real deal.
It came with Accuracy International Mag.

I had mine devcon bedded for my action... love this chassis for F Class.
Very light and ridgid....will keep with my Defiance Action evermore!

Their GEAR BOX is a complete pile of s##t.
I was squaded with someone during a match who was using one for its first time.
After a warm up and 3 10-shot relays, the screws for the elevation adjustment fell right out causing sprockets and kinds of stuff to come out too.

I would seriously look at the MPA chassis, having owned quite a few Cadex, I can confidently say MPA does the same but a bit lighter. Heavy enough to mitigate recoil well, light enough that if you wanted to carry it you could.

Let me suggest you've started with the wrong length action as the basis of your build. The conventional Short Action Model 700 has a fairly compact magazine well opening. It was never envisaged for 200-gr Long Very Low Drag bullets. In order to get the rounds INTO the magazine you have to work within the action's dimensions. That would be fine, but you also want to have detachable magazines. Subtract a few hundredths to the front and back for the magazine's dimensions, and you're forced even shorter. (Can you see where this is going?) My advice is build on a Long Model 700 action, and give yourself that extra space.
