I am looking to buy a Leupold VX-3L 4.5-14x56mm LR 67890 for my new Sako 85. I'm looking to have the 56mm lens without having a raised mount. So this appealed to me. I have a WTB add in the EE but wanted some opinions before I have someone reply. Thx.

Any info or reviews about the optical quality would be the same as a regular VX3. Their resale is typically quite a bit lower than a regular VX3. I had one once,but it just looked too odd the way the objective "wraps" around the barrel.
I've got a 3.5-10 x 50 VXL3 illuminated B&C that I rigged up to be a compromise between use in countries where night hunting is normal and legal, and more ordinary use. It works well, and mounts low.
Compared to the 50 mm, the 56 is enormous. If you've got a full night without lights application it would have its uses. At least you can mount it low. Make sure you get it with an illuminated reticle. If you aren't night hunting I'd get something else.
