Just wondering what you guys think of the Marlin Model 925M .22WMR bolt action? Any quirks or negatives? Any owners out there? What are they selling for in good used condition? Thanks!

Nothing wrong with Marlin rimfires. Had a 883SS, and was the most accurate .22 (LR or WMR) that I have ever owned. Am getting a 983S to replace it :D

One of my sons recently got a Marlin Model 925 (not an M) and I found out that it's a really accurate gun but with a horribly heavy trigger pull. Shame on you Marlin! :(

The other day I pulled out my Marlin 782 in WMR (bought in the mid 70's) and found it to really accurate too, but with the benefit of a much better trigger pull.

Well, the reason I ask is because I just became the owner of one! In lieu of a debt, I accepted a like new 925M that came with a Tasco 6-24X40mm Varmint Scope w./mil-dot reticle, Butler Creek flip up scope covers, Harris 13" bi-pod, Butler Creek camo nylon sling and two boxes of Winchester ammo. The debt was $150.00, so I figure I did okay. What do you guys think?

I forgot, I test fired it, and it was a tack driver! I'd heard the stories about .22 WMR rifles suffering accuracy wise compared to .22LR, but this one impressed me. I shot several groups that were well under an inch at 100 yards. The Marlin trigger was actually quite good. I didn't get a chance to actually get my trigger guage on it, but I would guess it broke at 2lbs or so. Very crisp, with no creep. I'm wondering if I lucked out or if some work was done on it. I'm not complaining though!

The only thing I'd like to change is the stock. I'd much prefer a nice laminate over the stock "hardwood" Marlin stock. Checked out the Marlin website and saw a nice replacement there for $75.00US. Haven't checked to see if Boyd's stock one for the 925M yet. Anyone order from the Marlin store before?

I am not farmiliar with that particular gun, but I would spend a bit more and get something good, like a CZ452 :)

are you ill?

Marlin makes fine accurate rimfire rifles.

I too have never used that particular model, but if it is consistant to the rest of their line you will be pleased with it.

x-man you made out like a bandit, 150 for all of that, good deal heck the bi-pod new is around 100$ you can't go too wrong even if you throw out the tasco your still way ahead.

I agree. :) Marlin makes fine accurate rimfire rifles. But I don't like the heavy trigger pulls on the new guns and I don't feel like playing around with the springs or paying over $100 on a trigger kit. :( Personally my first choice would be the CZ 452 Lux in 22 WMR.

I like the CZ, but I'd opt for the heavy barrel and laminate stock!:) Thanks for all the replies, nice to know I did okay on the deal as well!:)

I own a Marlin 925N (.22lr) and I consider it very accurate, worthy to challenge my old Walther target rifle..
Yes the stock trigger is heavy, so just yank the spring and replace it with one from a pen- trigger now cracks at 2.5 lb.

Great sensible bolt action rifle, you'll never wear it out and its almost boring how reliable and accurate it is with an old Bushnell 3-9x40 scope!
I'm 6' 4" 240lbs and it fits me perfectly, only drawback I find it very light which is fine for carrying all day but offhand shots can be wobbly- so rest against a tree and you'll be eating all the squirrels you want.

I'm sure the .22mag model will be the same..

BTW best ammo through mine is cheapo american eagle from CTC.
